OneXPlayer Mini Takes On The Steam Deck With A New AMD Model

Although the steam bridge has become the hottest topic of the PC game because of its portable switch design, it was hardly the first to try its hand on a pocket console for the PC game. The most recent vague of such computers began with the first GPD victory in 2016 and the niche market has since been dominated by at least two Chinese brands. With the launch of the Deck Steam Deck and limited availability, the laptop market seems to have been reflected, with new models and designs that are trying to capitalize on the new interests of players.

However, the Steam bridge also launched a new subcurrow in this market, with new variants of old models carrying AMD processors instead of Intel. This is exactly what a netbook tries to offer with a new variant of its mini onexplayer, potentially placing the popularity of the steam bridge with a handheld powered by the AMD.

As the name suggests, the Mini Onexplayer is actually a slightly smaller variant of the original model that has been launched in 2021 to preempt the vapor bridge from the valve. Although it has the same 7-inch display, the Mini Onexplayer supports a higher resolution of 1920×1200. The pocket hand is also delivered with faster storage PCIE NVME directly on the bat instead of slower EMMC technology. With 16 GB of RAM and a variety of ports, the mini onxplayer mini is really more like a laptop mini-computer than a pc watered.

Like many of its peers and rivals in this space, the Onexplayer initially launched with Intel processors only. Since the steam bridge, however, there has been a constant fillet of AMD variants that can give Intel a race to its money. This new mini onxplayer, in particular, arrives with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800U, which has eight cores and 16 wires, as well as Radeon Vega 8 graphics. For some, it makes this model a more valid game computer.

A very different alternative to Steam Deck

It is almost too easy to compare the onxplayer mini with the steam bridge in terms of design and CPU AMD, but as they say, the devil is in the details. The Onexplayer Mini uses an AMD Ryzen off-voltage shelf and ships with windows out of the box, which really made it more comparable to Windows laptops. On the other hand, the STEAM platform uses a customized SOC AMD and executes the STEAM operating system based on Linux, so the company is better able to solve its performance.

The biggest danger-circuit breaker for many, however, will probably be the price. Although the steam bridge costs more than 649 USD, the Mini Onexplayer Mini starts at $ 999, which is actually a reduced pre-sale price from $ 1,259. You can easily buy a more powerful game laptop at this rate, but the pocket form factor has the advantage of portability.

With delays and limitations of the steam bridge availability, many PC players could be a little tempted by these alternatives, especially when they come with Windows already pre-installed. Ironically, a netbook is rumored to consider developing its own version of the steam operating system to enhance the popularity of its devices with steam fans.
