During her first public appearance since withdrawing from the GOP primary, Nikki Haley announced on Wednesday that she intends to vote for former President Donald Trump in the 2024 general election. Speaking at the Hudson Institute, a conservative think tank, Haley emphasized the importance of a president who prioritizes supporting allies, holding enemies accountable, and securing the border.

While acknowledging Trump’s imperfections on these fronts, Haley criticized President Biden’s performance, labeling it as catastrophic. Despite her endorsement of Trump, she urged him to make efforts to engage and appeal to her supporters instead of assuming their automatic allegiance.

Although Haley exited the GOP presidential primary in March, she continues to garner significant votes against Trump in various states. Notably, she received notable percentages of the vote in Maryland, Nebraska, and West Virginia in recent elections.

Previously, Haley had been the last contender against Trump in the GOP race, but in the lead-up to her withdrawal, she escalated her criticisms of him, referring to him as a disaster for the Republican Party.

Regarding foreign policy, Haley warned of impending crises and criticized the Biden administration’s handling of the Israel-Hamas conflict. She chastised Biden for threatening to withhold weapons from Israel, which she argued would escalate tensions and embolden America’s enemies.

Haley also commented on the recent death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, stating that it was a positive development for the people of Iran. Additionally, she expressed disappointment in congressional Republicans who opposed funding packages aimed at bolstering Ukraine’s defense capabilities, arguing that such investments are crucial for safeguarding free countries against authoritarian threats.

In conclusion, Haley stressed the importance of proactive engagement in global affairs, cautioning against isolationism and emphasizing the necessity of decisive action to address imminent challenges.
