‘Dancing With the Stars’ will be the first live TV show on Disney+
The series of long series dancing with the stars leaves ABC for Disney +. Disney announced that at least two future seasons of the famous competitive dance show will begin on its streaming platform. The first season will make its debut on the fall of this year, about the same time as Disney launches a cheaper and sustained level by advertising in the United States. The dance will also be the first live broadcast issue to move to a streaming dissemination platform, probably due to a wider change in the way the industry deals with live content.
For ABC, the departure of the dance – a show that has released on the network for 16 years – means there will be more space for football. “After more than 30 seasons of the ABC program, including two spin-offs, dancing with the stars will move from ABC this fall so that the network has several football games from Monday night, as well as develop and invest in New and future programming, “the network said in a statement.
The landing dance is a major coup for Disney, who tries to strengthen his joke audience numbers. Disney + has recently started responding to adults, even begining parenting orders for its string content. The platform has invested a lot in the programming for adults, including original Marvel series such as Moon Knight and Daredevil. The dance lands regularly in the most widely observed network television series in adults aged 18 to 49 and already has a committed fanbase. The dance is also likely to draw a more diverse audience than Marvel – the show is largely observed by women and the elderly.
“The wide support of the show, as well as the overwhelming popularity of its competition nights on the theme of Disney, makes Disney + the perfect house to dance with the stars while continuing to expand our demographic significance,” said Kareem Daniel, President of Disney Media and entertainment distribution in a report.
